As a Data Annotation Engineer, you’ll be supporting the development of our AI models through data collection, labelling, model testing, and more. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our video analytics work.
What You Will Be Doing
- Collect data from new and existing deployments using video management software, ensuring its quality in terms of variety, lighting, and angles.
- Label objects based on specific guidelines, and review labelled data to identify model deficiencies.
- Upkeep guidelines and procedures for data collection and labelling.
- Collect test videos from various deployments to evaluate model performance, and suggest areas of improvement for data collection and labelling.
- On an ad-hoc basis, assist in the writing of scripts to improve processes and increase efficiency in manipulation of data.
- Communicate updates to internal stakeholders on progress, priorities, and problems, and assist with external stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis, such as demos.
Our Ideal Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data annotation, data operations, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g. Python) to automate processes and manipulate data.
- Experience with project management software (such as Jira, Confluence).
- High attention to detail and strong time management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with confidence in updating stakeholders and supporting client demos.
- Willingness to travel to deployment sites for on-site data collection.
- Prior experience with computer vision, video analytics, video management software, or IP camera technologies/platforms is a great plus.
- A self-starter with a growth mindset and a sense of ownership over your work.
