What can go wrong on a busy warehouse shift?

Peak season adds temporary staff, overtime and more forklifts to the same aisles. Supervisors are on the floor, but they cannot watch every aisle, dock and yard lane at once.

Safety alerts and productivity data from your warehouse cameras

Ailytics connects to the CCTV already in your warehouse. The same cameras flag unsafe lifts and forklift near misses while work is happening, rank ergonomic risk by work area, and record how much your forklifts and teams are working. Deploy on the edge, on-premise or in the cloud.

  1. Detect the hazard

Spot unsafe lifts, such as a bent back with straight knees, at picking and packing stations, and people too close to moving forklifts.

  2. Warn the shift team

Send supervisors the camera frame, time and location while the event is happening.

  3. Act on the evidence

The supervisor checks the frame, then coaches the worker or changes the set-up, such as raising the pallet.

  4. Review and report

Rank risky lifts by work area, and use them with forklift events and usage in shift briefings, ergonomic reviews and fleet planning.

Safety and productivity monitoring across aisles, docks and yard

Choose the detections that match your racking layout, loading bays and vehicle routes. The same cameras give you ergonomic risk, forklift usage and labour data for planning.

Safety

Warn supervisors before a forklift reaches a picker

Measure the real distance between people and moving forklifts in aisles, at loading bays and across the yard. Every near miss is recorded with the distance, frame, time and location, so you can fix the aisle ends and crossings that keep coming up.

  • Real distance from one camera
  • Near-miss records by camera
  • Frame, time and location evidence

Ergonomics

Run ergonomic risk assessments for picking and packing

Detect unsafe lifting posture, such as a bent back with straight knees, at picking faces, packing benches and goods in. Ailytics counts risky lifts by work area, so you can see which stations carry the most strain, change the set-up there first and check that it worked.

  • Unsafe lifting posture detection
  • Risky lifts ranked by work area
  • Trends to check each fix

Productivity

See how much each forklift really works

Track working and idle time for every forklift in view of your cameras. Use real utilisation to right-size the fleet before peak season, move idle forklifts to busy areas and question the next rental.

  • Working and idle time per forklift
  • Utilisation per day
  • Data for fleet and rental decisions

Productivity

Know where labour hours go

Total the hours people spend in each work area and see working and idle time by shift. Compare picking, packing and dock teams to balance crews, plan overtime and staff for peaks.

  • Hours by work area
  • Working and idle time by shift
  • Data for labour planning

Frequently asked questions

Do we need new cameras for warehouse safety AI?

Ailytics connects to existing IP cameras and compatible recording systems through RTSP or ONVIF, which are methods for connecting to video feeds. You can use your current CCTV rather than replace the camera network. Logistics customers include DHL. During a demo, discuss camera positions and the aisles, docks, and yard areas you want monitored so the team can assess coverage for your selected use cases.

How does Ailytics detect pedestrians near forklifts?

Pedestrian detection measures the real distance between people and moving forklifts from one camera, and alerts supervisors when someone gets too close. Each alert includes the camera frame, time, and location. Racking and stacked goods can block a camera's view, so camera placement matters. See the pedestrian detection page for more detail.

How does ergonomic risk assessment work in a warehouse?

Ailytics detects unsafe lifting posture, such as a bent back with straight knees, in monitored camera views of picking, packing and goods-in areas. Each event is recorded with the frame, time and location, and risky lifts are totalled by work area. Teams use this to find the stations that need a better set-up, such as raised pallets or a different pick face, then check whether risky lifts went down. The camera needs a clear view of the worker's body while lifting.

Can Ailytics track forklift and labour productivity?

Yes. Machinery utilisation shows when each forklift is working or idle through the day. Manpower tracking totals the hours people spend in each work area, with working and idle time by shift. Both run on the same cameras as your safety detections, and the multi-site dashboard shows every warehouse and distribution centre in one view.

Does warehouse monitoring work in dim aisles and outdoor yards?

Ailytics detection models are designed for harsh conditions, including low light, rain, and dust. Results still depend on what each camera can see, including obstructions and the size of people or vehicles in the frame. Share representative footage from your aisles, docks, and yard to assess conditions and coverage.

Can warehouse footage stay on our own network?

Yes. The Ailyssa detection engine supports edge, on-premise, and cloud deployment. An on-premise setup allows data to stay on-site, while the available deployment options help address your data-residency and latency requirements. Ailytics is ISO/IEC 27001 certified. Your IT team can discuss video storage, access, and network requirements during the sales process.

Can we configure detection for our warehouse rules?

Ailytics offers 50+ configurable pre-built use cases and a custom use-case builder that combines detections, zones and alert timing. Warehouse teams can select detections for pedestrians near forklifts, missing hi-vis vests, restricted areas, and lifting posture, among others. Bring your site rules and representative footage to the demo. The team can assess which existing detections fit and where a custom scenario needs further review.
