Turning Five & Our 2025 Retrospective

December 22, 2025

In 2026, Ailytics turns five.

As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back at our journey, and reflect on our biggest year to date. What began as a NUS research project has now grown to be a real international mission, and we’re grateful for all those who’ve supported us along the way.

Here’s a look at our accomplishments, setbacks, and learnings from the year.

1. Racking Up The Flight Miles

Singapore is our home turf, and the majority of our projects are located there. We’re deployed all across the island, from the first and only train hotel to your favorite person’s favorite airport. We even got a shout-out from Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister for our work there!

However, we’re realizing that the potential for AI-driven safety goes far beyond our corner of the planet. We started the year with active projects in 6 countries, and now that number has expanded to 9. You can find our team traveling not just around Asia, but to Australia, Europe, and the Middle East as well! We’re also in the midst of exploring possibilities within the Americas.

2. International = 24/7

Expanding internationally does come with its unique set of challenges. Within Ailytics, our Customer Success & Operations team has seen the most impact and shift. Our live support systems were previously designed around typical Southeast Asia hours, but in 2025 we’ve had to adapt to a 24/7 based model.

With an increasing number of clients that require support outside of typical SEA hours, we’ve had to strategically hire for different shift timings, and adjust the way we fundamentally provide support. We also explored building new support teams in parts of the world, but that’s still in the works.

3. Recruiting is Hard

Work expansion equals people expansion, and that has been quite the journey for us. We started the year with 18 people, and now that number has grown to 42. We’ve expanded upon existing teams, as well as hired for roles that were a first.

We didn’t get it right all the time. There have been interviewing processes that required adjustment, roles that should have been something else, and ultimately hires that weren’t the right mutual fit. Some things that worked at 18 people didn’t necessarily work at 30+, and that pushed us to rethink how we define roles and assess fit.

This year, we’ve received more than 58,000 applicants from LinkedIn alone for our openings. We experimented with different forms of assessments, conducted over 1,200 combined interviews, and our recruiter even got his WhatsApp temporarily banned for making too many international calls.

The demand to work within AI is truly global, and it’s helped us build a team that currently spans 11 different nationalities.

4. Big Tech Moves, External & Internal

If you walk past our office late at night, you might see the lights on sometimes. That might be our tech team working overtime on our major platform revamp and upcoming new products.

Our company started with a very specific focus in the construction sector, and that’s something that we’ve been working hard to expand. We’ve launched products not just for construction but for all heavy industries; such as manufacturing, logistics, oil & gas, and maritime. On the experimental front, we’re currently looking into developments for Agentic and GenAI VA products. Stay tuned.

We’ve also been implementing AI into our own workflows as well. From a company-wide perspective, it’s been great for things such as internal meeting summaries and efficient knowledge transfers. A lot of repetitive processes have been automated, and we’re able to work faster than ever before.

We actually even hired an intern whose main responsibility was figuring out ways for us to improve, shoutout Michelle.

5. Opportunities & Relationships

As with most B2B organizations, a lot of our growth comes from relationships. Typically this would entail going to things like networking events, expos, and sales conferences. However growth doesn’t have to be limited to just mean financial growth.

A big highlight of our 2025 was getting the chance to partner with schools across Singapore in unconventional ways. We had the opportunity to visit secondary schools and talk about startups as a career option. We also had the opportunity to not just host student office visits, but to also work with an organization like Rainbow Centre to hire two of their students as interns.

These things were great reminders for us to think about the potential impact of our work, and who we can help grow alongside us.

2026 & Beyond

Turning five is a big moment for us, but as cliché as this sounds, we’re just getting started. There’s still so much for us to do: from developing our tech, to exploring new markets, to evaluating how we even work as a company.
